Video feedback/learner response

Teacher Feedback:
  •  Great title!
  • Really good choice of song and parallel section works perfectly-great section of classic clips too!
  • Contrapuntal section works but i wonder if it could have signalled the switch a little more clearly
  • Some great editing touches-the gunshot into the bridge explosion at the end particularly good
Class Feedback:
  • Good song choice
  • Matched very well to clips
  • Amazing editing
  • Better variety of scenes
  • Clear for when the parallel changed to contrapuntal

WWW: I think that my editing of the clips went really well and fit to the briefing to create a video with parallel and contrapuntal scenes, while also the choice of music allowed me to clearly establish the happy go lucky vibe i was trying to create at the start to compare and contrast to the more 'gory' and unpleasant scenes in the contrapuntal section.

EBI: I could have used a larger variety of scenes that did not all come from the walking dead and i could have made the transition from parallel to contrapuntal much clearer than i might have first expected it to be.

4. I think that cassius' was one of the best as it definitely created that distinction between the contrapuntal and parallel and the scenes used were really enjoyable to watch with the music of i like to move it move it.

5. I have found that through the use of diegetic, non-diegetic, parallel and contrapuntal uses of sound that different themes and connotations can be crafted in order to portray a certain feeling, atmosphere, narrative and even setting/time period allowing for the audience to fully immerse themselves within a text through its use of sound.

Music video pre-production

1) Music video treatment You may already have a finished music video treatment from your summer project and/or preliminary exercise - definitely use or develop that if it works with your project.  However, you may need to update your treatment or even change it completely now you have finished your preliminary exercise. The original example from the summer for music video treatments can be found here. Green day - Wake me up when September ends - Original Artist + Song ClueS (will abbreviate to CS for treatment) - Artist Warm tones: Orange, teal 2 shots, low angle, Nostalgia/friendship The camera is on a close up of the pavement curb as 'CS' steps up revealing shoe brand. Then the camera moves anticlockwise and up to meet the face of 'CS' and cuts to a medium shot of him walking towards a bridge. Camera cuts to a side view and as 'CS' walks, the time changes and man is introduced walking alongside 'CS' towards the bridge. Montage of both actors having fun...

Statement of Intent

This week, we need to write and submit a second draft of our Statement of Intent that will be marked and given feedback in terms of a current level and approximate grade. The Statement of Intent is worth 10 of the 60 marks so if we want A/A* we'll need something close to full marks on this component.    One important point to remember is that your Statement of Intent is what you are planning to do - so it must be written in the future tense ('I will...' rather than 'I have...') This is not an evaluation but instead a written account of what you intend to produce. You need to submit the second draft of your Statement of Intent as a NEW blog post AND email or share a version from Microsoft Word / Google Docs with your coursework teacher. Statement of Intent guidance is provided by AQA in their NEA Student Booklet but we strongly recommend you also look at our Statement of Intent questions to consider document too (you'll need to log in with your Greenford Googl...
