Mise-en-scene recreation: Learner response

Feedback: Overall, his is a superb recreation of a challenging scene: well done! Excellent performances + costume : several elements of mise-en-scene are clearly considered here. so many nice touches and he conversation is edited impressively - good pace to it Audio levels and one moment where Cassius looks a he camera provide us with some EBI's but this is a great start to media Class Feedback: Face punch could've been more explosive (more AGGRESSION) Costume was good Location was alright Good camera work Audio varies a lot (background audio) Lighting not night  Actor looking into camera punch sound effect Own assessment: WWW: i believe hat overall the setting was pretty good for being a little run down with a car park while he costume was also faithful to the scene as it creates he look and feel of the characters that of Tyler being a little random with a leather jacket and floral shirt and he narrator having a suit, as if he had just finished work. Also the camera work wa...

Practical Mise-en-scene 30-60 second clip

For my video i have chosen the scene 'Hit me' from fight club 60 seconds beginning from 5 seconds into the video clip and ending at 1:05 with the scene where the narrator is hunched up against the car Costume : A leather jacket and summer button up shirt and sports trousers for the person acting out Tyler Durden while the narrator will wear a simple suit with no tie and one button at the top is undone  Lighting: in favourable conditions, this scene would be produced at night but considering limitations i would have to consider doing a scene like this in the evening or as close to dark as possible at late evening such as 6pm or 7pm Actor: Two actors one for Tyler and one for the Narrator, movements of Tyler are almost erratic and spontaneous lots of moving and hand gesturing while the narrator generally remains still and gestures every so often.  N:hand gestures, placing down suitcase, looking around every so often T: jumping up and down, placing bottles gesturing Make-...

Mise-en-scene blog

  1) Find a distinctive  still image  and write an analysis of the mise-en-scene. Use each of the aspects you've learned in the lesson. Lighting: The lighting within the scene makes the centre table with everyone around it quite dominant while leaving other aspects in the background quite dark creating an almost warm atmosphere around the table as being the only safe place. Costume: The outfits are rough and look quite worn as if they haven't been changed or cleaned for a very long time suggesting the possibility that they are unable to keep their clothes clean or that they choose not to. Actors: the actors are positioned in such a way that it seems like they are all facing the lady on the right which could suggest her as being authoritative in this scene or the fact that they are intently listening while their body language can also suggest a little bit of weariness in being around this character. Props: there is quite a lot of set dressing in terms of candles and random...

8 Movie Poster Analysis

Blade Runner     Genre :Sci-fi, Noir, Action (lights and futuristic buildings) Narrative : Trying to find someone (almost detective like there is a female character with a cigarette which could generally be associated with classic detective film) Audience : Older and educated maybe young adults and older teenagers (noir themes and action which would be much more appealing to these age groups, and when the movie first came out i would suggest that men were more interested in it however i think that now in contemporary society with stem being so much more popular with females i believe that it would also appeal to them) Scary Movie 2 Genre : Horror comedy, dark humour (more light-hearted imagery compared to other horror films there are a lot more clearly exaggerated faces that would suggest this) Narrative : Parody of other horror movies (lots of parodies like the 'O' in the title 'Movie' which is from castaway which could suggest that the whole point of this movie is t...
